How to Increase Torrent Speed

It is very common for us to download files from internet. Many of the internet users download or upload files over internet using torrent clients like Bit Torrent, Utorrent, etc. You might have experienced that some torrent files download slowly then other files and even upload speed will be changing sometimes. There are various factors which alter download and upload speeds in torrents.
By altering certain setting in torrent client you can boost up the download speed. Read on to know more about the tricks and methods to improve torrent download speed.
Choosing a good torrent client is all that you need for a good and healthy torrenting. Install only good clients like Bit torrent, U torrent, etc., the torrent that you choose should be up to date. Most of the torrents look and perform same as all of them are built using the same method. A good torrent will not interfere with your download or upload speeds.
Most of the time we spend looking for a good torrent file to download. It is worth spending time for a good torrent rather than downloading a bad torrent with less seeds and lots of leeches. Leaches are the users who do not have complete file with them and do most of downloading for themselves where as seeds are the users who have complete file and share them with others to download. Torrent with high number of seeds will give you great download speeds.
Check your system firewall settings; it is sometimes possible that your system firewall blocks incoming connections. Windows XP users manually configure you r system firewall to let the through the client. To do that go to your Windows Firewall window in that Options –> Preferences –> connection and check box beside your torrent client.
You might have noticed that while you download certain file your torrent client also upload it to other users. By limiting the upload rate you can also improve your download speed. But it is recommended to limit your upload rate too much. Just limit it to 80% of your total upload speed.
If your ISP restricts bandwidth for P2P connections then try playing around with the encryption options. Some ISP’s find it difficult to detect traffic information when protocol encryption is enabled in this case you can get increased download speed. If your ISP do not restrict in bandwidth for P2P connections then you can disable encryption protocol such that other torrent users can see your file and share it.
You can also use certain patches like Bit Torrent Download accelerator to improve download speed. This application simply looks for the best torrent available with large seed number and less leaches.
